The Coastal Angola Mission gathered 579 local congregation leaders in Sumbe from 22 to 24 October 2026 for its first Sabbath School and Personal Ministries symposium, held under the theme “Grounded in the Bible and Focused on Mission.”

The Mission is the administrative body for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Benguela and Cuanza Sul provinces. The symposium was organised by its Sabbath School, Personal Ministries, Men’s Ministries and Adventist Possibility Ministries departments, led by Pastor Malaquias Belchior.

The main speaker was Pastor Isaías Hingombe, who directs the same departments at the Southwestern Angola Union. Based in Huambo, the Union oversees the Church’s work across nine provinces in central, southern and coastal Angola.

Over the three days, participants took part in training sessions, spiritual reflections and experience-sharing aimed at strengthening Sabbath School and Personal Ministries and increasing missionary activity in local districts and churches.

The symposium closed with a call for leaders to convert what they had learned into specific steps in their own churches and districts.
