Comrades Marathon finisher Emmanuel Mandeya ran 160 kilometres from Rutenga to Beitbridge on 26 July 2026 to raise funds toward completing the Eastlea Seventh-day Adventist Church, whose construction has stood unfinished for over a decade.

Dorcas ladies from Beitbridge Central District served hot meals to more than 430 adults and 100 children stranded at Taxi, Bus Terminus and Engen Garage over two days, as Zimbabwean and Malawian nationals returned home.
