Kanye Adventist Hospital and Kanye District leadership have agreed to work more closely together in serving the district’s health needs, following a visit by a council delegation to the hospital on 22 September 2026.
The two sides agreed to coordinate their respective roles in the local health system. The district provides primary health care through its clinics and health posts, while the hospital provides secondary care, a complementarity that both parties said would improve patient care if referral pathways and planning were handled jointly.

District leaders also indicated interest in the hospital’s recently upgraded private wing. The private wing is intended to serve paying clients, with the revenue it generates used to support services on the public side of the hospital, a model that would allow the institution to sustain care for patients who cannot pay.
The delegation included Botswana Union Conference President Pastor Phemelo Seboka, a member of Botswana’s House of Chiefs, the Kanye District Commissioner, the Kanye District Council Chairperson and his Deputy, two Administrative Deputy Council Secretaries, and other district officials, council members, and staff.

Hospital management briefed the delegation on the institution’s services, recent developments, and current challenges before taking them on a tour of the facility. The tour included the hospital’s new oxygen plant, the private wing renovations, and several departments.
At the pharmacy, the delegation was briefed on difficulties affecting the availability of medicines, a challenge the hospital said reflects wider pressures on the supply of medicines to health facilities across Botswana.

Kanye Adventist Hospital operates under the Botswana Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
