With the powerful theme “Jesus is Coming Again”, the Seventh-day Adventist Church across the Indian Ocean Union Conference (IOUC) is ready to begin one of its largest evangelistic campaigns ever. From 18 to 31 May 2025, thousands of members and leaders from across the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) will join hands with local churches in Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Réunion, Mayotte, and neighbouring islands for Impact IOUC 2025—a mission initiative that will cover over 5,000 sites with the message of hope and salvation.

This Division-wide outreach is more than a campaign; it is a spiritual movement—responding to the urgency of the times and the call of prophecy. Every sermon, Bible study, and community visit will echo the promise of Revelation 22:12:“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.” The mission is clear: to proclaim Christ’s return and call people to prepare their hearts for His coming.

Dr. Harrington Akombwa, President of the SID, emphasized the importance of this moment, stating: “2025 is the year set aside for Impact IOUC. From 18 to 31 May, all roads will be leading to Madagascar and the surrounding islands. SID personnel from all Unions and the Division office will be present, ministering at thousands of sites and preaching the gospel of the soon return of Christ.” Dr. Akombwa also thanked the IOUC leadership for their extensive preparation and praised the many leaders and members from across the Division who have volunteered to serve.

“The Lord Jesus has waited for us to do this work this year,” he said. “We count on your prayers, your support, and your willingness to volunteer and mobilize others. Let us come together so that many will hear this life-changing message.” The campaign represents the highest level of collaboration and dedication across the Adventist Church in the region. From church administrators and departmental directors to pastors, elders, and lay members, everyone is being called to participate. Local churches have already begun preparing through prayer initiatives, health outreach, Bible studies, and community engagement—ensuring that when the message is preached, hearts will be ready to receive it.

Impact IOUC 2025 also reflects the church’s long-standing commitment to Total Member Involvement. Every believer has a part to play. Whether through preaching, hospitality, prayer support, logistics, or simply inviting a neighbour, each contribution helps fulfill the mission given to us by Christ. As church members, this is our moment to act. In the words of Matthew 24:14: “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations; and then the end will come.” The islands of the IOUC are answering that call.

Let us continue to pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Let us stand united in faith and purpose. And let us move forward, knowing that this mission is heaven-ordained—and that Jesus is coming again.
