Fifty-five people were baptised as the Lesotho Conference of Seventh-day Adventists closed its 2026 National Camp-Meeting on Sunday, 4 October 2026, at the end of a week that recorded the Conference’s largest camp-meeting attendance since the COVID-19 restrictions of 2020 and 2021.
The gathering ran from Sunday, 27 September, and drew members from the Conference’s 52 churches, together with their companies and branches.

The baptismal service was held on Sabbath, 3 October. The candidates came from 18 of the Conference’s 52 churches, and their baptism marked the culmination of four evangelistic campaigns conducted in the weeks before the camp-meeting.
Guest speakers included Dr Nelson Simweemba, Publishing Director for the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID); Dr Pako Mokgwane, SID Communication and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Director; and Dr Paul Shongwe, president of the Southern Africa Union (SAU). They were joined by local speakers.

Adventist World Radio (AWR) Lesotho was launched during the week, with studios in Maseru and Mohale’s Hoek. The station extends the Conference’s broadcasting work across the country.
The launch was attended by the Honourable Nkhethoa Seetsa, Lesotho’s Minister of Local Government and Chieftainship, who is a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Members of Parliament Honourable Mokhothu Makhalanyane and Honourable Thabo Maretlane, also baptised Adventist members, were present.
The Conference said the week’s priority now is follow-up care and Bible study for the newly baptised members, and carrying the camp-meeting’s emphasis on mission back into local congregations.
