Impact Mozambique 2026 launches this evening with over 1,000 evangelistic sites across the nation. SID President Harrington Akombwa says success will be measured by transformed lives, not just numbers. The campaign challenges each member to reach 26 people, focusing on discipleship rather than mere membership.

The much-awaited and prayed-for Impact Mozambique 2026 is set to kick off this evening, May 10, 2026. With over 800 sites prepared and preachers from across the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) ready to converge on Mozambique, the message of hope and the soon return of Jesus Christ will be spread throughout the nation.

Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division President Harrington Akombwa described the campaign's launch as arriving at a critical moment for both the nation and the church.

Impact Mozambique 2026 begins at a very important moment for both our nation and our church," he said. "I expect that this campaign will become more than a series of meetings; it must be a movement of spiritual renewal that brings hope, healing, and transformation to communities across Mozambique.

Akombwa emphasised that the campaign's impact must extend beyond the closing meetings and that success is not about numbers but the "transformation of lives, strengthened families, and renewed faith."

We pray that many people will encounter Christ personally and that churches will continue serving their communities long after the campaign ends because retention is important. We want this initiative to leave a lasting spiritual impact," he explained.

Themed Chris Our Hope, the campaign carries profound significance for a nation that has faced ongoing challenges.

Through this campaign, we want every person to know that God has not forgotten them. In Christ, there is peace, purpose, healing, and hope for the future," Akombwa adds.

On the ground, the atmosphere is electric. SID Personal Ministries Director Dr. Dennis Matekenya painted a vivid picture of the preparations.

Mozambique is fever high with hope and excitement. Every member from every church is geared up, fired up for an evangelism explosion in Mozambique," he said. "The leaders are leaving no stone unturned to ensure everyone is counted.

Matekenya praised the unprecedented collaboration driving the campaign. Adding that "it is interesting to see usual benchwarmers taking their rightful place in advancing God's mission."

The campaign introduces an innovative approach to member involvement. Rather than overwhelming members with unrealistic targets, the strategy focuses on sustainable discipleship.

This is the time we are challenging every member to invite not 2,026 people, but we are asking them to reach out to only 26 people. Eventually, 26 new disciples will each reach one, and before you know it, we will reach 2,026 within a local church.

He emphasised that this multiplication effect depends on genuine discipleship. "Once that is done, people will throw away personal fears about witnessing for Jesus Christ as His faithful disciples."

"Our initiative for every member from every church evangelising everyone everywhere is a call to discipleship for every believer, including those new members who will be baptised."
