The Seventh-day Adventist Church has baptised 2,588 people across the provinces of Benguela and Cuanza Sul during a one-week evangelistic campaign known as "Evangelistic Impact," held from 27 June to 4 July 2026.
The announcement was made by Pastor Bonifácio Manuel Tchiombe, Executive Secretary of the Angola Coastal Mission, the administrative body of the Seventh-day Adventist Church covering both provinces.
Five districts within Cuanza Sul Province each recorded more than 200 baptisms during the week: Central Seles, South Seles, Wako Kungo, Cruzamento, and Conda Central. South Seles, led by Pastor Maximino Kapusso, recorded the highest number of baptisms with 307 people publicly committing their lives to Christ.
As part of the discipleship emphasis promoted by the Angola Coastal Mission, church leaders stressed that these figures represent more than 2,500 new disciples whose lives have been transformed through Christ, families touched by the gospel, and communities strengthened spiritually.
Following the campaign, membership across the Angola Coastal Mission stands at 113,166.
