Although no official statistics are available on bullying in Angola, reports indicate that the issue affects many students in school environments. A Portuguese-language broadcast from a German radio network has reported that many students experience bullying in schools.
According to the UNICEF, bullying is a global concern. UNICEF reports that approximately 150 million young people between the ages of 13 and 15 worldwide have experienced bullying.
In response to this challenge, members of the Ambassador Club Atalaia of Christ organized an anti-bullying awareness campaign in Kuito, the capital of Bié Province, Angola. The initiative took place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at two schools in the city: Simione Mucune I and Simione Mucune II Secondary School.
The schools are located within the territory of the Southwestern Angola Union, part of the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division.
Promoting respect and awareness
The campaign aimed to help students better understand the impact of bullying in school environments and in social relationships.
The presentation was delivered by club leader Manuel Numa, who spoke about the importance of respect, empathy, and healthy relationships among classmates.
During the session, Numa highlighted the psychological and academic consequences of bullying and encouraged students to report abusive behavior when it occurs. He also challenged students to take an active role in promoting a culture of respect and peace in their schools.
Community Outreach
The principal of Simione Mucune School commended the initiative, describing it as an important contribution to strengthening moral and civic values among students.
The activity is part of the Ambassador Club Atalaia of Christ’s ongoing community outreach program, which focuses on initiatives that benefit the local community.
Organizers noted that this was the second school visited by the club within two weeks as part of the campaign.
