The Novo Tempo Centre of Influence in Huambo distributed 168 clothing kits to 217 families in the Lomanda community of Chipipa on 19 July 2026, in a winter response designed to help residents cope with the Angolan highlands' cold season.

The kits, containing jackets, blankets, trousers, and shirts, were assembled to help protect children, young people, and adults from the low temperatures currently gripping Huambo Province. The distribution was made possible through a partnership between the Centre of Influence, Floridental Clinic, and Pumangol, Angola's national petroleum products distribution company.

Tessiz Ventura, a coordinator at the Novo Tempo Centre of Influence in Huambo, said the initiative built on an ongoing community assistance programme first launched in December 2025.

"On December 25 last year, we visited this same community and distributed food kits," Ventura said. "This time, we returned to meet another important need by helping families face the cold season. Our commitment is to continue serving people and demonstrating God's love through practical acts of kindness."

Centre Director Pastor Adriano Tomé was unable to attend the distribution due to a family bereavement. The distribution was carried out by a team of 16 volunteers.

The Centre of Influence is also preparing a follow-up outreach event. On 27 August 2026, in partnership with Floridental Clinic and Pumangol, it will host a Health Expo at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem Pavilion in Huambo. The event will bring together approximately 40 dental professionals delivering free oral health services, alongside broader programming on health education, disease prevention, and lifestyle practices.

The Novo Tempo Centre of Influence continues to serve communities across Huambo Province through a model that combines humanitarian assistance, health outreach, and relationship-building, reflecting the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to serve holistically.
