The Northeast Angola Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has recorded its first baptisms resulting directly from Bible studies conducted by its own headquarters employees, with 13 people baptised at the Metropolitan Adventist Church in Luanda on Sabbath, 18 July 2026.

The initiative began earlier in 2026 with a challenge from Northeast Angola Union President Pastor Teixeira Vinte, who invited every employee at the Union headquarters to take a more active role in the Church's mission, beyond their administrative responsibilities. The call reached staff from every corner of the Union office: accounting, administration, reception, nursing, medical services, departmental ministries, and support services.

Employees were asked to dedicate part of their time to giving Bible studies, building relationships with study interests, and walking alongside individuals on their spiritual journey. The result, Union leadership said, demonstrated that evangelism is not limited to the pulpit or to public evangelistic campaigns, every office, department, and workplace can become a mission field.

The 13 baptisms at Metropolitan Adventist Church represent the first fruits of the initiative and mark a historic milestone for the Union. The baptismal service was attended by administrators from the South Luanda Mission, Cabinda Mission, and North Mission, alongside pastors, church leaders, and Union employees who gathered to celebrate the decisions.

For Union leadership, the baptisms reinforce a broader institutional conviction: that every employee, regardless of position or department, is called to participate in the Church's mission. The initiative continues at the Union headquarters, with employees encouraged to sustain and expand their Bible study engagements.
