A delegation from the Bié Provincial Government and members of parliament joined more than 2,000 women in Kuíto last week for the Women's Ministry Congress of the Cuíto Ecclesiastical District, lending civic weight to a three-day gathering that closed with nine baptisms and a renewed missionary call across the province.
The government delegation attended on Saturday, 25 April, the central day of the congress. During the proceedings, participants offered a special prayer of intercession for the Governor of Bié Province, Dr. Celeste Elavoco, reaffirming the Adventist Church's commitment to praying for civil authorities and contributing to the common good of the nation.
The congress, held from 23 to 25 April, drew women from churches across Bié and neighbouring regions, and was attended by Pastor Enoque Paulino, president of the Central Angola Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, who served as official delegate. His presence underscored the strategic role of Women's Ministries in strengthening the church and its witness in Angolan society.
A highlight of the congress came on Friday, 24 April, when nine people were baptised into the Adventist Church in a ceremony conducted by Pastor Daniel Cameia. The baptism was received as the visible fruit of evangelistic work carried out across the region in the lead-up to the congress, and was met with celebration by those gathered.
Speaking under the theme "Transformed to Transform," Pastor Paulino drew his message from John 12, reflecting on Mary's anointing of Jesus. He challenged participants to embrace sincere devotion, sacrificial love, and a life consecrated to God's service, calling each woman to become an agent of transformation in her own community.
The gathering closed with a strong call to continue the mission, to value the role of women in the church, and to intensify evangelistic outreach across Bié. Participants returned to their communities, encouraged to live out the theme, transformed, and ready to transform the world around them.
