The Angola Coastal Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has recorded 3,176 baptisms during the second phase of its Evangelistic Impact Project, held from 17 July to 1 August 2026 across the provinces of Benguela and Cuanza Sul.

The two-week campaign built on an earlier phase held from 27 June to 4 July 2026, which drew 2,588 baptisms. Together, the two phases have brought over 5,700 new members into the Adventist Church in the Coastal Mission territory in just over five weeks.

According to figures presented by Coastal Mission Executive Secretary Pastor Bonifácio Manuel Tchiombe, several districts recorded striking results. The Balombo District in Benguela Province, led by Pastor Venâncio Pinoca, recorded the highest total, with 668 baptisms. The Babaera District followed with 504 baptisms, and the Waku Kungo District welcomed 215 new members.

The Quilenda District recorded 61 baptisms, which Mission leadership described as a historic outcome for the district given the significant presence of minority ethnic communities in the region, communities that have historically had limited engagement with the Adventist message.

Pastor Tchiombe said the outcomes reflected sustained missional focus across the territory.

"These figures represent the addition of more than 3,000 disciples to the Kingdom of God and testify to the powerful work of the Holy Spirit when the Church is grounded in the Word of God and remains focused on its mission," Tchiombe said.

The Angola Coastal Mission serves Benguela and Cuanza Sul provinces and forms part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's broader missional strategy in Angola. Following the two campaign phases, its membership has grown to approximately 116,000, extending the Adventist presence in previously under-reached communities across the coastal territory.
