A delegation from Adventist Health International (AHI) visited Adventist healthcare institutions in Botswana on 7 July 2026 for a day of strategic dialogue with Botswana Union Conference leadership on the future of Adventist healthcare in the country.

The AHI delegation was led by Corporate Secretary Dr. Danjuma and included Mr. Lucas Secor, who was formally introduced as the new Chairperson of the AHI Botswana Board. The delegation was hosted by Botswana Union Conference President Pastor Phemelo Seboka and Executive Secretary Pastor Kefa Matwetwe.

The day began at Kanye Adventist Hospital, where the delegation met with hospital management and staff. The new Board Chairperson was formally introduced to the team, followed by a presentation outlining the strategic direction of the partnership between AHI and the Adventist institutions in Botswana.

Discussions focused on strengthening Adventist healthcare through the development of an integrated health system, one in which Adventist institutions collaborate, share resources, and deliver Christ-centred healthcare as a coordinated network rather than as isolated facilities.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Moshupa Adventist Clinic, touring the facility before proceeding to a newly donated plot of land nearby. Proposals discussed for the site included a Lifestyle Centre, an institutional model that promotes preventive healthcare and healthy living, and staff accommodation to support workforce welfare.

Botswana Union leadership said the partnership with AHI opens pathways for professional and career development for the healthcare workforce, access to global expertise, and engagement with donors who can support the acquisition of modern medical equipment and other resources needed to improve patient care.

The Botswana Union Conference operates a network of Adventist healthcare facilities that includes Kanye Adventist Hospital and Moshupa Adventist Clinic, both located in the country's Southern District.
