The Adventist Men's Organisation (AMO) of Novo Templo Seventh-day Adventist Church has donated more than 100 copies of The Great Controversy to the Army Superior Institute in Huambo, following a visit that combined book distribution, fellowship, and a public sermon on Christian living.

Twenty-four AMO members made the visit on Friday, 29 May 2026, led by Pastor João Armando Candumbo, Director of Education and Communication of the Central Mission. The delegation was received by Brigadier António José Miranda.

The centrepiece of the visit was the presentation of The Great Controversy — a foundational book in Adventist literature, written by Ellen G. White — in the Institute's library, where the donated copies were placed for cadets and staff to access. Pastor Candumbo delivered a message on the theme "Purity in a Corrupt World," after which AMO members performed the hymn "Looking unto Jesus."

What had been planned as a 90-minute programme extended to three hours.

"The event exceeded all expectations," said Teófilo Matias, AMO leader at Novo Templo Church. "We had planned to stay for just an hour and a half, but we ended up staying for three hours."

The Novo Templo AMO is part of the Central Mission's broader emphasis on member-led evangelism, with literature distribution forming one of several outreach channels currently in use across the territory.
